21st Century Community Learning Centers

Safe, Enriching Learning Environments

Our 21st Century Afterschool Programs help schools stay open after the regular school day to provide children with a safe, enriching learning environment and individual attention in either school district in the lower Yakima Valley.

Program goals are to increase students' academic achievement in reading and mathematics through tutoring, homework help, academic enrichment, technology education, supervised recreational opportunities and services for any students with disabilities. 21st Century also offers opportunities for parent involvement, English language classes and other parent classes.

Preparation for your Academic Future

Our afterschool programs provide opportunities for academic enrichment, including providing tutorial services to help students. Our services extend especially to students in high-poverty areas and those who attend low-performing schools. Our goal is for all our students to meet state and local student performance standards in core academic areas like reading and mathematics to prepare them for their future education.

Our services and activities include youth development programs, drug and violence prevention, counseling, art, music, recreation, technology education and character eduction. These are designed to both reinforce and work together with the students' regular academic programs. Our services also extend to the family of our students by providing opportunities for literacy and educational development.
